Our Pop-Up Picnic and a Movie is a unique, collaborative event between 100 Mile Makers, Nantucket Watershed Project  and the Dreamer Collective.

The idea for this event all started with a conversation about water quality between two landscapers: one a political surfer and the other a documentary film-making kiteboarder. Which then tumbled into a discussion about water and food. And then farming. And then Nantucket and the power of storytelling.

And finally, the idea of a collaborative pop-up picnic and movie where local producers are the stars and conversations about food, water and more - some of those difficult discussions made easier by breaking bread together - can be born.

We present a night of local food, fun and film as mediums for discussion about the state of the water in our harbors, how fortunate we are to have so many local growers on the island despite the odds or perhaps, discussions simply about the beauty of the Nantucket sky in August.
